All general and specialty contractors must register with the Tenders Board Secretariat in Ethiopia.

Prior to sending an application to register as a contractor with the Tenders Board Secretariat in Ethiopia, make sure you meet all of the business requirements. This will simplify the process of registration and ensure that your application won't be rejected due to incorrect information.

Registering as a contractor in Ethiopia is simple. Below are the two prerequisites to registering as a contractor.

  • An applicant is not defined as an individual and is defined as a sole -proprietorship, partnership, limited liability partnership, limited partnership, or company.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure the completeness of the submissions, including the provision of a valid email address and all of the items on the checklist.

The processing fees for all applications are quoted when the application is submitted. The processing fee is not refundable.

All contractors applying for registration are required to submit the below documents to the State Tenders Board Secretariat:

  • Completed Application Form;

  • Payment of Registration fee;

  • Evidence of Incorporation /Registration of Business Name with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC);

  • Evidence of Companys Article /Memorandum of Association;

  • Current 3 years Personal Income Tax Clearance Certificate (LIRS) of at least two (2)Directors;

  • Bank Reference Letter;

  • Corporate profile of the company including Curriculum Vitae of key personnel supported by Professional Licenses (where applicable);

  • Passport Photograph of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer;

  • Development Levy of at least two Directors; and

  • Evidence of remittance of Pay As You Earn Tax for key staff (Limited Liability Company)
